Circa 1967 | Metal
Since 1963, master metal sculptor Silas Seandel has built a reputation as one of the leading creators of decorative art in the United States. His New York City studio has seen decades of dazzling designs in brass, bronze, steel, and copper. Eschewing enamels or veneers, Seandel achieves colors solely by transforming the nature of the metal itself, with his own special applications of acids and heat treatments — as in this one-of-a-kind metal artwork, signed by the artist in 1967.
