Circa 1960s | Wood, paper lamp shade

An eclectic artisan-made table lamp with an off white paper lamp shade. The two figures are hand carved and rendered in the Cubist style creating a visually dynamic use of curves and lines to form the figures. The subtle hints of varying lacquered finishes also pay homage to the Cubist movement as Picasso-like elements are easily recognized in this lamp. An extremely rare find from an estate in France with a marking on the back from the artisan.
